Clearance is inventory produced for retail that never sold through: discontinued ranges, cancelled orders, packaging changes and overproduction. The discount comes from the commercial situation, not the condition.
Clearance suits retailers, market traders and online sellers who want stock they can list or shelf immediately without grading every unit.
Worth knowing: Clearance is more predictable but the margin is usually thinner than returns. Check the reference retail figure against what the product currently sells for, not its original RRP.
