Frequently asked
Buying and selling stock — your questions
Straight answers on stock types, condition, manifests, delivery, trade accounts and selling inventory to Palletise.
What is a return pallet?
A return pallet is a pallet built from inventory customers returned to a retailer. Contents are mixed and condition varies across the pallet — some items are unused, others are damaged, incomplete or faulty. Palletise states the condition and whether the lot has been tested before you buy.
What is customer return stock?
Customer return stock is inventory that was sold, returned and then cleared by the retailer rather than resold at full price. It is graded CUSTOMER RETURN where we have checked it to the process described on the lot, and UNTESTED RETURN where we have not function tested it.
What is liquidation stock?
Liquidation stock is inventory released when a business closes, restructures or clears a site. It is often mixed, sold as one lot and available for a limited window, which is why much of it is priced on enquiry rather than listed.
What is clearance stock?
Clearance stock is new inventory sold below normal wholesale cost because a range has ended, a season has passed or the seller is holding surplus. It is generally boxed and unused, so it carries less risk than returns.
Can beginners buy from Palletise?
Yes. You can start with individual products from the clearance shop or a smaller job lot, then move up to pallets as you learn what sells in your channel. Palletise Academy exists for exactly this.
Do I need a trade account?
No. Individual clearance products can be bought without one. A trade account gives you saved stock, order history and access to quoted bulk pricing.
Can I buy individual products?
Yes — the clearance shop sells single items from clearance, end-of-line and checked return stock.
Do you sell small job lots?
Yes. Job lots are our usual entry point between single products and full pallets, and we show unit counts wherever they are reliable so you can work out your cost per unit.
Do you sell bulk stock?
Yes. Multi-pallet and full-load lots are available and are usually quoted on volume rather than listed at a fixed price.
Do you offer nationwide delivery?
Yes, we arrange pallet delivery across mainland UK, and collection can be arranged by agreement. Delivery is quoted based on pallet count and destination.
Can Palletise buy my excess stock?
We assess excess, surplus, overstock, end-of-line, retail and warehouse inventory. Send a stock list with quantities, condition and location and our buying team will review it. An assessment is not a guarantee of purchase.
Do you buy stock from businesses that are closing?
Yes. We regularly assess inventory from closures, retirements and site clearances, and can work to a handover deadline where one exists.
What condition is return stock in?
It varies within a single lot. Our condition system separates NEW, CLEARANCE, BOX DAMAGED, CUSTOMER RETURN, UNTESTED RETURN and SALVAGE so you can see what has been checked and what has not.
What is a manifest?
A manifest is the list of what a lot contains — usually line descriptions, quantities and sometimes retail values. Where a manifest exists you can review it before buying. Retail values on a manifest are a reference, not a resale guarantee.
Can I resell stock purchased from Palletise?
Yes — that is what most of our stock is bought for. Some lots carry brand or channel restrictions, and where they do it is stated on the lot before purchase.
